A Historical Site of the 1970’s Speedboat Racing scene including John Lewis & Vulture, plus many other Boats, presented here from a collection of articles & photos my Dad stored in boxes from many years ago. Also included is a wealth of information from generous boating fans.

Throughout this journey of building this historical website, I came to realize that this era marked the pinnacle of excitement & innovation in Speedboat Racing History, unprecedented fan engagement, extensive media coverage, & an abundance of Speedboats & Race Meetings.

The tale recounts the journey of a young John Lewis as he pursued his ultimate goal of claiming the E. C. Griffith Cup (‘The Melbourne Cup’ of Australasian Speed Boat Racing), with the support of an exceptional team.

A range of Speedboats is on display, reflecting the multitude of boats for exciting racing – highlighting the combined involvement of boats with various power classifications and hull configurations.
